By placing an order, the customer (“you”) confirms that they have read, understood, and accepted these Terms in full. These Terms apply to both private individuals and business customers. Where the customer acts as a consumer, mandatory provisions of Swiss consumer law apply and prevail over any conflicting clause.

Scope & Amendments

These Terms apply to all sales and deliveries of products by The Alchemie, unless otherwise agreed in writing. Any differing terms from the customer are excluded unless explicitly accepted in writing. We reserve the right to amend or update these Terms at any time. The version in effect at the time of the order applies. Updates are published on our Website.

Products & Information

We take care to describe and display our products accurately. However, minor variations (e.g., scent, packaging, colour) may occur and do not constitute defects. Product availability and descriptions are subject to change. We reserve the right to discontinue or modify products at any time.

Formation of Contract

Product listings on our Website are non-binding invitations to purchase. By submitting an order, you make a binding offer to buy. A contract is formed only when we confirm dispatch or deliver the goods. We may reject orders for legitimate reasons, including out-of-stock items or suspected misuse. If payment has already been made for a rejected order, it will be refunded promptly.

Prices, Taxes & Payment

All prices are in CHF and include Swiss VAT (if applicable). Shipping costs are shown separately before checkout. Payment methods include credit card, Twint, PayPal, or other methods offered at checkout. Products remain our property until full payment is received. In case of delayed payment, we may suspend delivery or cancel the order.

Delivery & Inspection

We deliver within Switzerland only. Delivery times shown are estimates and not guaranteed. The risk of loss passes to you upon delivery to your address. Upon receipt, you must inspect goods promptly and notify us within 7 days of any visible defects or transport damage by email to info@thealchemie.ch. Hidden defects must be reported as soon as discovered.

Returns & Refunds

Under Swiss law, there is no automatic right of withdrawal for online purchases. The Alchemie does not grant a voluntary “cooling-off period.” However, if we accept a return for goodwill reasons, it must be within 14 days of receipt, unused, in original packaging, and with proof of purchase. Certain products (e.g. opened cosmetics, essential oils, hygiene items) cannot be returned for health protection reasons. In case of defective or incorrect goods, please contact us within 7 days of receipt. If the defect is confirmed, we will offer a replacement or refund. Refunds are processed within 14 days after we receive and inspect the returned goods. Return shipping costs are borne by the customer unless the return is due to an error on our part. 8. Warranty & Liability We provide the statutory warranty for defects in accordance with Articles 197 et seq. of the Swiss Code of Obligations (CO). The warranty period is two years from delivery. Remedies include repair, replacement, or refund, at our discretion. Liability for indirect or consequential damages (e.g., allergic reactions, loss of profit) is excluded, except in cases of gross negligence or intent. Our total liability for direct damages shall not exceed the purchase price of the product concerned.

Product Use, Health & Safety

Our products are designed for external cosmetic use only, unless explicitly stated otherwise. Always follow usage and safety instructions on labels or product pages. Perform a patch test before using essential oils or new cosmetic formulations.

The Alchemie accepts no responsibility for misuse, storage errors, or allergic reactions.

Intellectual Property

All Website content, including names, images, designs, and text, are owned by or licensed to The Alchemie. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or use any materials without prior written permission.

Privacy & Data Protection

We collect and process personal data according to the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and our Privacy Policy. Personal data is used only for order processing, communication, and legal obligations. We do not share your data with third parties except where necessary (e.g., payment processors, postal services). You may request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data by contacting info@thealchemie.ch.

Promotions & Gift Vouchers

Promotional offers and discount codes are subject to specific terms (validity period, minimum order value, etc.). Only one discount or voucher may be used per order. Misuse of discounts may result in order cancellation.

Force Majeure

We are not liable for failure or delay caused by circumstances beyond our control, such as natural disasters, strikes, pandemics, or transport disruptions.

Applicable Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed exclusively by Swiss law, excluding its conflict-of-law provisions. The place of jurisdiction is Basel, Switzerland. For consumer disputes, you may also bring proceedings at your Swiss domicile, if applicable.
